How Information About You Helps Us To Provide Better Care

A modern information system has been developed by the NHS in England, which will make increased use of information from medical records, with the intention of improving health services. You may have heard this system referred to as care data.

One of the main aims of the new system is to allow the NHS to make better use of the routine information collected when you visit your doctor.

There has been a request from the Health & Social Care Information Centre that GP practices make patients aware of the intended data extraction. For more information, please read the "Frequently asked questions" and the "How information about you helps us to provide better care" patient information leaflets. You will find information on how to object if you do not wish your information to be extracted in these leaflets.

Help Direct is your first port of call for practical support, guidance and information. This service has been put in place to assist all adults across East Lancashire in getting the most out of life.

The team can help you regardless of your situation or circumstance and you can be confident that you will be supported in finding a positive solution to your needs.

About the surgery

The surgery is located on the 2nd floor of the St Peter's health and leisure complex in Burnley town centre. We endeavour to provide a comprehensive service for all members of the family with particular accent on health promotion and screening delivered by all members of our health care team. In 1996, Rosehill Surgery was assessed by the RCGP and elevated to the status of a 'Fellowship of the Royal College of General Practitioners' practice. This was achieved by the hard work and dedication of the entire practice team and was one of the first 100 such fellowships ever awarded by the RCGP nationwide.
